App needs lots of improvement to its import and calculation systems still before its usable.

Hello,

Lifetime premium member here. I was very excited about this app when i first found it, but sadly i am STILL unable to utilize it effectively. Quite frankly, i purchased my membership specifically for the ability to auto import my trades. Otherwise, there are many many free alternatives that basically do everything other than the AI features, completely free. For clarity that means that i haven’t and wont be doing any manual entry testing.

There have been major improvements to the app recently with the addition of scaling in and out of positions, so I’ve decided to return and continue testing.

Testing Conditions

  • Base currency CAD. (used for deposits)

  • Trading mostly in USD. (some forex transactions come through with other currencies)

  • Broker = IBKR

  • All tests cross referenced with other journaling software and broker statements.

Findings

  • Still no auto import for IBKR. CSV upload is tedious, but acceptable. hopefully auto import is coming in the future!

  • CSV values not coming through correctly. I’m unsure if the system is trying to calculate the difference between currencies, but lots of the values are incorrect and seem to be off anywhere from 20-30% give or take. Some days don’t even show up at all. There are also discrepancies on the amount of trades taken and win/loss ratios. No need to look deeper if foundational values are off. For reference the exact same CSV imports directly into other paid journaling software fine.

  • The calculations are off as well. On some of the trades that have imported correctly, the PnL is just simply not correct. leading to every single daily/weekly/monthly calculation to be incorrect.

  • MyPnl needs the ability to auto detect trade currency if it does not already have it. again, currency values are off.

At current condition, i could not and would not be able to recommend it to anyone i know in good faith. App is simply unreliable in its current state. Will wait for future updates before I test any further.

    Hello,

Thank you for the detailed feedback. We have improved the Interactive Brokers Flex Query parser, including trade grouping, currencies, commissions, and P&L calculations.

Please delete the previous import and upload the Flex Query CSV again. If any issue remains, send the CSV and specific examples to support@mypnl.pro so we can review and fix it.

Thanks for the detailed feedback and for continuing to test MyPnL.

For Interactive Brokers, please upload the IBKR Flex Query CSV file instead of the standard CSV export. The Flex Query contains more complete trade information and allows us to import your trades much more accurately.

Also, if you need to change your account's base currency, you can do so by clicking the ✏️ (pen) icon in the Account Filter section and selecting your preferred currency.

We're still actively improving the import and calculation systems, and your feedback is helping us make them more accurate. We really appreciate your patience and support.
