MyPnL Product Update — Trade Diary, Faster High-Volume Trading, and a More Refined Experience

We have shipped a major MyPnL refinement focused on trading journals, speed, reliability, and a cleaner experience across both light and dark themes.

Trade Diary is now a complete trading workspace

The old Notebook experience is now called Trade Diary and has been rebuilt into a more professional place to review decisions, organise notes, and improve trading discipline.

  • Added a full in-page note writer instead of a popup workflow.

  • Added a richer editor with headings, lists, checklists, links, images, formatting, and slash commands.

  • Added templates for consistent daily reviews, trade recaps, pre-market preparation, and custom workflows.

  • Added reusable templates, favourites, folders, searching, sorting, tags, linked trades, backups, and PDF export.

  • Existing notes remain accessible in the Trade Diary; nothing was removed.

  • Trade notes, daily journals, session recaps, and backtesting notes are organised into dedicated sections.

  • Linked trades now show their performance context directly inside relevant diary entries.

  • Improved diary persistence so edits, templates, linked trades, folders, and note organisation remain reliable.

  • Added safer handling for older notes and legacy saved data.

Chartbook has been refined

Chartbook remains part of Trade Diary and is now better aligned with the journaling workflow.

  • Chartbook only includes trades that actually have attached chart images.

  • Trades without images no longer clutter the chart library.

  • Improved chart image discovery and filtering.

  • Kept Chartbook accessible from Trade Diary without placing it awkwardly in the main page header.

Universal tags are now more consistent

Tags are now designed to work across the product instead of being isolated in individual pages.

  • Improved tag searching in Trade Journal and Trade Diary.

  • Added a reusable universal tag picker.

  • Added tag management in Settings.

  • Improved tag matching so capitalisation and formatting differences do not create duplicate-looking results.

  • Tags can be used more consistently across notes, trades, filtering, and reviews.

Better performance for high-frequency traders

MyPnL now handles larger trade histories more efficiently, especially for traders importing hundreds or thousands of executions.

  • Reduced unnecessary full-history processing in Trade Journal and Stats.

  • Improved grouped calculations for large trade collections.

  • Improved trade execution counts and date filtering.

  • Reduced repeated array processing in statistics and diary calculations.

  • Added bounded loading for linked trade details so very large journals stay responsive.

  • Improved the handling of session metrics, currency groups, and trade detail loading.

  • Added regression coverage for large trade collections.

Faster navigation and less unnecessary reloading

Several parts of the app were reworked to avoid loading again when no meaningful data changed.

  • Trade Journal is more stable when switching browser tabs.

  • Authentication refreshes no longer unnecessarily reload user-facing views.

  • Background session events are handled more carefully.

  • Stale requests are prevented from replacing newer page data.

  • Account selection changes remain responsive without triggering avoidable duplicate fetches.

Premium loading states across the app

Loading states have been redesigned to show the expected structure of each upcoming page.

  • Dashboard, Stats, Trade Journal, Trade Diary, Calendar, Settings, Upload Trade, Backtesting, Chartbook, and replay views now use page-aware skeleton layouts.

  • Loaders mirror the expected page structure instead of showing generic blank screens or centered text.

  • Upload Trade and Backtesting loaders now fill the page width correctly.

  • Loading animations respect reduced-motion preferences.

  • The experience is more consistent in both dark and light themes.

Light theme and visual consistency improvements

The light theme received a broad readability and contrast pass.

  • Improved button, text, border, card, selected-state, and chart contrast.

  • Improved dashboard card readability.

  • Improved navigation, upload button, account controls, and selected tab states.

  • Improved chart theme colours and ECharts readability.

  • Improved trade status and streak display clarity.

  • Standardised visual hierarchy across major pages.

Reliability improvements

  • Added checks around trade date filtering and trade status handling.

  • Added chart theme, theme contrast, streak, diary persistence, and Chartbook tests.

  • Production builds passed after the latest changes.

  • No existing trade data, notes, Chartbook entries, or existing functionality was intentionally removed.
